Road Weight Limits

The Town will be mirroring the weight limit restrictions imposed by Vilas County.   Property owners are urged to plan their deliveries around these anticipated restrictions.  Road Limits were lifted on April 8, 2010

Bike Trail Extensions

The Town of Boulder Junction is pleased to announce that they have been awarded bike trail grants from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation that will substantially fund the Bike Trail extensions project.  Room Tax revenues are also earmarked for this project. 

The Bike Trail extension is presently in the engineering phase.    Our engineer is in the process of acquiring land easements from property owners.  We are still hopeful to have construction of the trail completed this summer. 

Bike trail maps are sold at the Chamber of Commerce, Library, and Town Hall.  The extensions to the trail are not yet printed as we are still in the design phase.  Please check back for more up to date information.

 

Winterpark Warming Shelter

The Town Electors have approved the plans for a new warming shelter to be constructed at Winterpark.  The Town Board awarded a contract at their March 23rd Board Meeting.  The shelter should be completed by July 2010.
 

Study on Town Facilities - Community Center/Library/Town Hall

 

After months of review by the Study Committee on Town Facilities and after their initial report, a new library, community center, and town hall building was proposed and considered at a Special Town Electors Meeting by qualified electors on Tuesday, October 20, 2009.  The Town Board urged all qualified electors to participate in the meeting to determine whether construction of a $3.5 million dollar building is approved.

 
Community Center Project Status

At the Special Electors Meeting held on October 20, 2009, qualified electors opposed the construction of a community center/library/town hall for a project cost not to exceed $3.5 million dollars.  The status of the study committee and project direction were briefly discussed at the November 3, 2009 Board Meeting and again on November 17, 2009.  The special electors present on November 17th voted in favor of holding a special public hearing which was held on Tuesday, January 19th at 7:00 P.M.
